In 2019, 914 thousand foreigners visited the Sugd region. Compared to 2018, the number of tourists in the region increased by 7.4 percent.
According to the press service of the chairman of the Sugd region, important measures are being taken to develop the tourism industry in the framework of the “Years of Village, Tourism and Crafts Development” program. During that period, 10 new travel companies were created in the region. The total number of travel agencies has reached up to 40.
It should be noted that in the region there are 86 hotels, 46 museums and 1,190 architectural and historical monuments. To develop the tourism infrastructure in the region, new modern facilities are created annually.
