The poverty level among Sughd region population compared to 2018 decreased by 0.5 percent in compare 2018.
Against the background of poverty reduction, the quality population’s life has improved significantly. This was stated by Tajik President Emomali Rahmon during the working meeting with the leadership and the assets of Sugd region, which took place in the second half of March 25, 2020 in Guliston town.
According to the press service of the head of the state, the socio-economic development of towns and parts of the region, as well as the implementation of the plan for the development of sectors of the national economy, were mainly completed in the seven months of 2019.
“Last year, the gross product of enterprises in the Sugd region was brought up to 20 billion and 500 million somoni, which is 26.5 percent of the total gross domestic product of the country. The volume of industrial production in 2019 amounted 13 billion somoni. Compared to 2018, this figure increased by 12.9 percent, ” emphasized Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
We will note that according to official data, compared with January-February 2019, for this period of 2020, industrialists of the region produced more products by 20.2 percent.
