This year, 122 applications from craftsmen and craftswomen from 18 towns and districts of Sugd entered the grant commission of the chairman of the region. In particular, 4 women with disabilities applied for the grant.
Out ofthe total number of applications, 60 women received grants from the chairman of the region. The presentation ceremony was held at the Arbob Palace of the Bobodzhongafurovsky District on October 18, 2019.
According to the press service of the regional administration, 2 million and 105 thousand somoni were granted as a grant to support women artisans and entrepreneurs of Sugd from 2010 to 2018. All these funds are aimed at expanding workshops and sewing workshops, where 10 to 60 women study crafts. According to the projects, in the future, more than 940 women and girls will be involved in training and work.
“This year, 60 women who received another support will employ 260 housewives and prepare 680 new students. The total amount of allocated grants is 420 thousand somoni”, the press service notes.
Recall that for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, the development of folk crafts, as well as the employment of women and girls, grants have been allocated by the President of the country since 2006. Last year, 13 Sugd’s women acquired grants from the president of the country. This year, with the provision of projects, another 12 artisans and craftswomen of Sugd region received presidential support.
