A delegation of 17 Tajik textile and clothing companies visit Tashkent to attend the 14th Central Asian International Textile Machinery Exhibition – CAITME 2022 started today, on 07 September 2022. The three-day fair additionally provides opportunity for B2B meetings to establish direct contacts and expand the cooperation opportunities.

The Tajik delegation consists of the following textile and clothing companies: Liman, Saidiyon, Sifat Sanoat, TojTex, Zebo (all from Dushanbe), Izzat, Lider, Ortex, Rahimov A.A., Rahmatov, Sapsan, (Khujand), KOTA Global (Bokhtar), Nohid (Istaravshan), Botur (Konibodom), Samo and C (Farkhor), Maftuna (Vahdat), and Safiya (Tursunzoda). A representative of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan is also supported to join the delegation.

Annually, the CAITME gathers around 100 companies from a dozen of countries. The exhibition demonstrates the best technological developments and specimen of equipment for textile, knitting, sewing production, and etc. The event will highlight the newest advanced technologies and machinery, enable first class networking with key decision makers, influencers and industry experts, and will provide opportunities to learn about global insights, trends, and issues at parallel conferences and forums.

Saidmumin Kamolov, ITC National Program Manager, believes that technological innovation is a pivotal tool for succeeding in the textile and clothing industry: “This is a unique chance to seek cooperation opportunities with producers of manufacturing technologies, raise awareness of modern textile processing techniques for advanced materials, meet new partners, and see emerging and sustainable printing technologies. The fair will also serve as a knowledge sharing and networking platform for Tajik textile and clothing business leaders”.

The Tajik companies will learn the latest technologies, innovative equipment, and industry trends, meet manufacturers directly in the trade fair, discuss the potential cooperation, identify potential suppliers of machinery, equipment and spare parts, and sign contracts and agreements. Last year, the Tajik companies returned from CAITME with contracts and agreements valued USD 1.7 mln to import machinery, spare parts, fabrics, and accessories.

Aminjon Rahmatov, “Rahmatov”: “In 2021, ITC and GIZ supported us to attend this fair and the first visit resulted with us importing textile machinery, fabrics, accessories, spare parts. This year, we are visiting Tashkent even more prepared and we will be able to build direct business linkages and partnerships with potential suppliers and we hope it helps to diversify our sourcing opportunities”.

Additionally, the Tajik delegation will visit textile and clothing companies in Tashkent region, as well as some local shops and markets for raw materials, spare parts and accessories.

ITC believes that participation in international trade fairs provides good opportunities for project beneficiary companies to be competitive in regional markets through the establishment of new business contacts, obtaining new information on the sector developments, and learning more about the global and regional market requirements. Such trade missions are also important for the export and import diversification.

The programme to CAITME is made possible thanks to the close collaboration between ITC and GIZ and in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan. The project of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Tajikistan Integrated Rural Development Project /TRIGGER is jointly funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The International Trade Centre’s Global Textiles and Clothing Programme (GTEX) is funded by the Government of Switzerland and aims to promote T&C exports and to stimulate employment and income generation along the value chain. Tajik local consulting companies – “ACT Development” (Dushanbe) and “Business Consulting Group” (Khujand) arranged the visit of the Tajik delegation, head and guide the delegation during the fair and trip to Tashkent.
