The Uzbekistan-Tajikistan Friendship Society has begun operating in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.
As the head of the society Shavkat Khamroev noted to the “Farage” correspondent in Uzbekistan, on November 1, 2019, an organizational meeting of the society was held, in which members of the initiative group took part. The Uzbekistan-Tajikistan Friendship Society itself was registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan on September 4, 2019.
“The main goal of the society is to cooperate with the Uzbek Embassy in Tajikistan, the Tajik Embassy in Uzbekistan, the National Cultural Center of Tajiks of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National and Cultural Center of Uzbeks in the Republic of Uzbekistan Tajikistan,” he said.
According to him, the activities of the society consist of cultural- scientific and socio-economic events, the organization of literary circles, exhibitions of works by artists, craftsmen, organizing meetings with poets and writers, actors and folk singers. All these events and meetings play an important role in strengthening the friendship of the two twin countries.
“In cooperation with the relevant ministries, we intend to carry out a number of works for business development and trade of the two countries, assisting in attracting foreign investment. Explaining Uzbekistan’s tourism potential to Tajiks is also a priority for the people of Tajikistan,” said Shavkat Hamroev, chairman of the Uzbekistan-Tajikistan Friendship Society.
