Qairoqum’s first aggregate started to work in 1956 in past century. Now it needs renovation.
Yesterday, on 14th June 2019, Sugd region chairman introduced with Qairoqum hydroelectric power plant’s work. This information was given from region’s press service. According to official date, the first aggregate was powered in 1956 and the second one in 1957 year. Throughout 60 years this station provides electricity for northern part of country.
“Today the necessity for electricity becomes wider, that is why it needs full reconstruction. According to initial, the reconstruction needs 150 million dollar. Due to the project, the main aggregate and same parts of the station need reconstruction for distribution 100kW power. As well there is a plan to increase the power of the station from 126 MW to 174 MW”- notes press service.
