As noted by Nazarzoda Ibrohim, senior inspector for ensuring the constitutional rights of prisoners of the GUIN, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan, prisoners were released from correctional colonies, pre-trial detention centers (SIZOs) of Khujand and Istaravshan, as well as from the colony of the settlement of Bobojongafurovsky district.

In particular, he said that out of the penal colony 3/3, 142 people were amnestied, most of whom were convicted of membership in extremist and terrorist organizations. Also, 55 people were released from the pre-trial detention center of the city of Khujand, including 8 women.

Note that the Amnesty Law was adopted by the lower house of parliament last Friday, October 25. On the same day, the document was signed by President Emomali Rahmon. In total, 20 thousand suspected and accused of criminal and other crimes will be released from liability and released. Amnesty is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of Tajikistan, the anniversary will be celebrated on November 6.
